1. Astrology is a belief system, not a science

• Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is an ancient cultural and philosophical tradition. We present it because it is beautiful, historically important and, for many people, a helpful lens for reflection.
• There is no scientifically established mechanism by which the positions of planets at your birth determine your personality or future events. Controlled studies have not shown astrology to predict outcomes better than chance.
• Different schools, texts and astrologers interpret the same chart differently. There is no single "correct" reading. What Dasha shows is one reasonable reading within the tradition, not the truth about you.
• Terms like "auspicious", "malefic", "dosha", "good period" and "bad period" are the tradition's vocabulary. They describe a classification within astrology; they are not statements about what will happen to you.

2. Samay is an AI, not a person or an astrologer

• Samay is a computer program built on large language models supplied by third parties (currently Groq, Amazon Web Services Bedrock and Google Gemini). It has no consciousness, intuition, training as an astrologer, professional qualification, memory of you beyond what you tell it, or intention to help or harm.
• It produces text by predicting likely words. That means it can be wrong, inconsistent, out of date, biased, offensive, or entirely made up ("hallucinated"), while sounding fluent and confident. It may misread a placement, invent a rule, misquote a classical text or cite a verse that does not exist.
• It may give a different answer to the same question asked twice. It may agree with whatever you seem to want to hear. Do not treat agreement as confirmation.
• It cannot see you, examine you, know your circumstances or take responsibility. It cannot keep a secret in the way a professional can (see the Privacy Policy for who processes your messages).
• Verify anything important. If an answer touches anything that matters to you, check it with a qualified human being before you act on it.

3. Nothing here is advice of any kind

Nothing in Dasha, whether computed by software, generated by Samay, printed in a report or written by us, is:

• Medical advice. Not a diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plan or opinion on medication, surgery, diet, fitness or any health condition, physical or mental.
• Mental-health advice. Not therapy, counselling, psychological assessment or crisis support.
• Legal advice. Not an opinion on any law, contract, case, dispute or legal right.
• Financial or investment advice. Not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, invest, lend, borrow, gamble, trade, start or close a business, or make any money decision. We are not a registered investment adviser under any law.
• Relationship, marriage or family advice. A compatibility score (Kundli Milan / Guna Milan) is a traditional point system. It says nothing reliable about whether two real people will be happy together, and must never be used to accept, reject, pressure or judge a person or a match.
• Career or education advice. Not a basis for taking, leaving or refusing a job, course or opportunity.
• Pregnancy, fertility or child-related advice. Not a basis for any decision about conception, pregnancy, childbirth, naming or raising a child.
• Travel or safety advice. Not a basis for deciding whether, when or where to travel, or whether something is safe.
• Religious or spiritual instruction. We describe traditions; we do not tell you what to believe or practise.
• Advice of any other kind. If it is a decision about your life, it is yours and, where it matters, a qualified professional's.

4. Computations are exact; interpretations are opinion

• Planetary longitudes, ascendant, house cusps, nakshatras, dasha start and end dates, Panchang elements and transit positions are computed deterministically from the birth date, time and place you enter, using the Swiss Ephemeris with stated conventions (sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa, mean lunar node, Parashari system). Given the same input, you get the same numbers every time.
• Those numbers are only as good as your input. A birth time that is off by a few minutes can change the ascendant, the divisional charts and the dasha timeline. If you are unsure of your birth time, treat every time-sensitive output as unreliable.
• Everything built on top of the numbers, including every reading, score, yoga interpretation, report and AI answer, is an opinion within a belief system. Two experts would disagree; so would two runs of the AI.

5. Nothing here predicts the future

• No chart, dasha period, transit, "good time", "bad time", Sade Sati, Mangal Dosha, compatibility score, numerology number or AI answer predicts what will happen to you. We make no promise, express or implied, about any outcome, event or timing.
• The Service is designed to refuse questions about death, lifespan, serious illness, accidents, disasters, pregnancy outcomes and similar matters. If it nonetheless says something about such a topic, that is an error. It is not a prediction. Disregard it and, if you wish, report it to us.

6. No remedies, no supernatural claims

• We do not sell, recommend or endorse gemstones, rituals, pujas, yantras, mantras, donations, fasts, charms or any other "remedy".
• We make no claim that anything, astrological or otherwise, has a supernatural, metaphysical or magical effect on your life.
• If any part of the Service describes a traditional remedy, it does so only to explain what a text or custom says. Be cautious of anyone who tells you that you must pay for a remedy to avoid harm.

7. Emergencies and crisis

• Dasha and Samay are not emergency, crisis or mental-health services and are not monitored by humans in real time.
• If you or someone else is in danger, is thinking about self-harm or suicide, or needs urgent medical or psychiatric help, stop using the Service and contact emergency services now.
• India: dial 112 for police, fire or ambulance. For free, confidential mental-health support 24×7, call Tele-MANAS: 14416 or 1-800-891-4416.
• Elsewhere: call your local emergency number or a local crisis line.
• Samay tries to point you towards help if it detects crisis language, but that detection can fail. Never wait for an app to tell you to get help.

8. Every interpretation and every decision is yours

• You alone decide what, if anything, to do with anything the Service shows you. You accept full and sole responsibility for those decisions and their consequences.
• Do not make, delay, cancel or change any decision about health, medication, pregnancy, mental health, relationships, marriage, children, education, work, money, property, legal matters, travel or safety on the basis of the Service.
• Nothing in the Service creates a professional relationship (doctor, therapist, lawyer, adviser or astrologer) between you and us or any AI provider.
• The Terms of Use limit our liability and explain that you release us from claims arising from decisions you make in reliance on the Service, to the extent the law allows.

9. Other people's charts

• If you enter someone else's birth details, you are responsible for having their permission where the law requires it, and for what you do with the result.
• Never use a reading or a compatibility score to judge, exclude, pressure, harass or discriminate against any person, or to make decisions about them in employment, housing, lending, education, marriage or family matters. Doing so breaches the Terms of Use and may break the law.
• Do not enter a child's details unless you are the child's parent or legal guardian.

10. Reporting a harmful or wrong answer

If Samay gives an answer that is harmful, offensive, about a forbidden topic, or plainly wrong, please tell us at privacy@dasha-astro.com with a screenshot or the text of the answer. We use these reports to improve the guardrails. You can also rate answers in the app.

11. The short version shown in the app

The app shows this condensed disclaimer at sign-up and before the first AI answer. It has the same meaning as this page.

Dasha and its AI guide Samay are for entertainment, cultural interest and study only. Astrology is a traditional belief system, not a science. Nothing here is medical, mental-health, legal, financial, relationship, career, pregnancy, travel or safety advice, and nothing predicts the future. Samay is an AI program, not a person or an astrologer: it can be wrong, invent details or be inappropriate, even when it sounds confident. Chart positions are computed from the birth details you enter; every interpretation is opinion. Verify anything important with a qualified professional. Every interpretation and every decision is yours alone. We sell no remedies and make no supernatural claims.
